Scholar

A sketch of a character for something I've been dreaming up.  He's sort of a pseudo-18th century scholar/adventurer.  I'm working on a more finished painting now, so hopefully I'll be posting that before too long.  More characters from the same setting might follow.

Wayfaring Warrior

Something I've been working on.  I'll try to give this blog some more attention.

Dragon Slayer

New portfolio piece.  A finished painting like this doesn't really belong here on the blog... so check it out at jcreynolds.com!

RollPlay: Dark Heresy

All four characters together.  Appearances and Logos inspired by Warhammer 40k © Games Workshop Ltd.

RollPlay: Dark Heresy characters

Here are all if the characters from the aforementioned Dark Heresy game.  Appearances and logos inspired by Warhammer 40k © Games Workshop Ltd.

Something a little different: my interpretation of the character Jaxx Rommulous played by Geoff Robinson in a Dark Heresy campaign.  Appearance and logos inspired by the Warhammer 40k universe © Games Workshop Ltd.

I was spending too long on this.  It is as finished as it is going to be.

This guy is a character in a developing setting/story I've been trying to think up.  Will probably add color.  Hopefully I'll be posting more regular updates soon.  Thanks to all of you who keep coming back here to see what I've been up to.  Cheers!

It's been a while - hopefully I'll have some more stuff to put up soon.

Location sketch

An old fortress city built on the edge of an inland sea that dried up hundreds of years prior.

This was going to go up yesterday as just a figure drawing, but I got a little carried away.

Some classical inspiration today (as well as Bridgman, of course).

I'm back and I've got Hawai'i on the brain!

More Bridgman-inspired figures.  Looser, this time.

This sketch might turn into something more finished down the line.  I have a new Bridgman book that I've been pouring over and I'm all excited about drawing figures.

Lancer.  I've been having fun with this today.  Posting it now so I don't spend too much time on it.

More early medieval dudes.  This swear this is going somewhere.

Starting the week off with some character design sketches.

Pose is inspired by photo reference.  I started coloring him but I decided the marker look was cool.  I also didn't want to spend all day on this.  The armor reminds me of the marines in Halo.
